Before I achieved all of my certifications, l would like to share with you on how I got started in the martial arts. I was 13 years old living in Brooklyn, New York where I was born. Judo was my first love for training. My first instructor was an Army Special Forces Green Beret. He taught hand to hand combat skills to our troops and had his own Judo school (dojo) on his own time. The training was hard and each class was 2 hours long. I loved it more than anything.
Later I got started with Taekwondo and Hapkido. My instructors were Korean. I tried to learn from them as much as possible. I trained everyday, 7 days a week for hours, and sometimes all day. I taught many classes for my instructor and helped him in anyway I could for over 10 years. I even went to Korea with other instructors and other black belts to learn more of the art of Taekwondo, saw the country, and visited Buddhist temples. I only focused on my training and I knew that I would eventually open my own martial arts school. After years and years of hard training and studying, all my dreams have come true.
I am also the only instructor in New Jersey to be on the advisory board for the World Tae Kwon Do Federation in Korea. I also promoted the most students in New Jersey to International Black Belts out of all the other instructors during the past several years.
